BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 10+ years programming experience, particularly in C++
- 5+ years of experience in game engine development experience
- Strong understanding of game engine architecture
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English; due to the nature of the role which requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingualism French and English is required for this position.

As a Senior Game Engine Developer, you are an integral part of the game engine team, providing the essential link between gameplay and Unreal 5. Your technical expertise ranges from managing core engine systems to improving performance and optimising low-level systems. You work easily with cross-functional teams, sharing your technical knowledge and encouraging innovation. Overall, your contribution is essential to ensuring an exceptional multiplayer experience.

Responsabilités
- Appropriation et normes élevées : Assumer la responsabilité et le soutien des principaux systèmes du moteur, en maintenant des normes élevées de performance du moteur de jeux et en veillant à ce que notre jeu offre une expérience exceptionnelle;
- Expertise technique : Un large éventail de compétences en développement de moteur de jeux pour plonger dans les détails techniques, contribuer à l'amélioration des performances et améliorer la base de code en implémentant des fonctionnalités et en optimisant les systèmes de bas niveau;
- Faisabilité technique et évaluation : Comprendre les objectifs du projet, identifier les exigences de développement et évaluer la faisabilité technique, en veillant à l'alignement sur les objectifs;
- Sensibilisation à l'industrie : Se tenir au courant des tendances de l'industrie, des meilleures pratiques et des technologies émergentes pour rester compétitifs dans l'industrie du jeu;

- Documentation : Rédiger une documentation technique claire et complète pour faciliter les futurs efforts de développement et de maintenance;
- Révisions de code : Participer activement aux révisions de code, en offrant un retour d'information qui favorise les normes de travail les plus élevées.

- Technical Expertise: Strong game engine development skills to dive deep into technical details, contribute to performance improvements, and enhance the code base by implementing features and optimising low-level systems;
- Technical Feasibility and Assessment: Understand project goals, identify development requirements, and assess technical feasibility to ensure alignment with goals;
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to remain competitive in the gaming industry;
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to meet technical requirements and promote innovation within our projects;
- Mentoring and Knowledge Sharing: Help and share your knowledge with team members and studio teams and contribute to a culture of learning and growth;
- Documentation: Write clear and comprehensive technical documentation to assist future development and maintenance efforts;
- Code Reviews: Actively participate in code reviews, providing feedback that promotes the highest standards of work.

- Experience with Unreal 5 or a similar game engine
- Experience with or interest in MOBA game development
- Live game development experience
