BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in the games industry.
- 2+ released titles as a UI artist, UI designer or similar role
- A portfolio showcasing wireframes, UI game samples and solid artistic foundation.
- Experience in building user interfaces in a game engine, such as Unreal Engine and Unity.
- Proficiency in UI scripting and an understanding of ''game math'' in UI design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English; due to the nature of the role which requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingual French and English is required for this position.

As a Principal UI Artist, you are a visionary tasked with leading the next generation of user interface design for our upcoming multiplayer online battle arena game (MOBA). In this role, you are instrumental in defining the artistic style and innovative approach to UI/UX within our game. You seamlessly blend artistry with functionality, crafting interfaces that not only dazzle visually but also elevate the overall player experience. With the team, you mold a new intellectual property and redefine the boundaries of UI design in the gaming realm.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Create and develop the artistic vision for the game's user interface.
- Design innovative UI concepts that push the boundaries of what's possible, both visually and interactively.
- Produce and integrate 2D and 3D UI assets appropriate for each stage of design, from wireframes and concepts to final in-game assets.
- Work closely with the engineering team to realize artistic visions within the constraints of the game's technical framework.
- Collaborate with UX designers, UI artists and UI SDEs to create seamless and intuitive interfaces, ensuring a perfect blend of art and usability.
- Foster an environment of creativity and innovation, encouraging team members to explore new ideas and techniques in UI design.

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with and interest in competitive gaming
- Unreal Blueprint knowledge
- Unreal material creation knowledge
- Experience shipping a game using Unreal Engine
- 3D toolset knowledge
- Passion for video games and a keen interest in keeping up with industry trends and developments
