Job Description

En tant que Scientifique de données, vous contribuez à la conception de fonctionnalités engageantes orientées vers les joueuses et les joueurs. Faisant partie de l'équipe d'intégration (onboarding), vous collaborez avec les équipes de développement et de conception de jeu pour implémenter et calibrer les fonctionnalités selon les actions et rétroactions des joueuses et des joueurs. Vous les soutenez dans leur progression dans le jeu et développez des systèmes pour suivre, mesurer et améliorer leurs performances. Grâce à votre solide expérience en statistiques et votre talent pour modéliser des systèmes complexes, vous participez à créer un environnement de jeu dynamique et immersif où les joueuses et les joueurs peuvent s'engager et évoluer de manière significative.

As a Data Scientist, you contribute to the design of engaging player-facing features. As part of the onboarding team, you work directly with developers and game designers to implement and calibrate in-game features based on player actions. You support players as they progress through the game and develop systems to track, measure and improve their performance. With a strong background in statistics and a remarkable talent for modelling complex systems, you help create a dynamic, immersive game environment where players can engage and evolve in meaningful ways.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the game development team to build models and design systems that accurately reflect game interactions and player performance;
- Define data collection specifications and align data structure with in-game systems;
- Collaborate on model integration and related gameplay features;
- Develop tools to monitor and report on model quality;
- Define meaningful player performance KPIs and relevant data visualization tools to track player progression.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in statistics, economics, machine learning, operations research, computer science or other quantitative field
- Experience with statistical analysis and testing, and model development (decision trees, reinforcement learning, Bayesian inference)
- 3+ years of industry experience using in-game telemetry in SQL, Spark or other languages/programs
- Ability to use a language such as Python or R (acceptable) to work efficiently with large datasets at scale
- Ability to design complex systems and build advanced models using data science methodologies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English; due to the nature of the role, which requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingual French and English is required for this position.
