What we do:

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Titles Department at Demonware, based out of our Vancouver office. You'll work closely with the game development studios that produce AAA blockbuster titles including Call of Duty®.

Your job will involve operations, infrastructure management and automation/tooling for online services that can handle millions of concurrently connected users. The Titles department collaborates with game studios to meet the changing needs of players with every new game release and major update.

Your responsibilities:
• Maintain and evolve the operational platform that makes up a title.
• Drive the direction of our operational architecture, taking into account our dedication to maximum reliability for players.
• Ensure all components are highly scalable and maintainable.
• Handle the features, components and tooling being built.
• Partner with other specialists to solve problems with our matchmaking technology and its interactions with various other team's technology.

About you:
• Relevant work experience, including exposure to a high-volume environment.
• Experience working at scale - thousands of servers running a high-volume or critical production service environment.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Automation / scripting skills and a desire to automate all the things.
• Comfortable with at least one scripting language, e.g. Python or Ruby.
• Validated understanding of fundamental technologies, e.g. TCP/IP, Linux/Unix internals.
• Experience with configuration management systems, e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Terraform.
• Keen to learn new technologies.
• Ability to analyze requirements and make corresponding design decisions.

Bonus:
• Knowledge of the public cloud providers and cloud technologies.
• Experience working with container orchestration e.g. Kubernetes.
• Experience in monitoring and metrics systems, e.g. Nagios, Zabbix, Graphite, Cacti.
• Experience with game development or game engines.
