Activision Publishing is seeking a Senior Business Development Analyst, to join the Business Development team. The Business Development team manages relationships with our external development partners and technology providers to ensure the successful delivery of our games. This role will be the analytical and operational engine that keeps our external-development programs running on time, on scope, and on budget. The position combines cost stewardship, market intelligence, and technology scouting to ensure our teams make data-driven decisions about partners, projects, and tools.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Business Development team in sourcing, evaluating, negotiating external contracts. Oversee administrative workflows including contract intake, approvals, and execution logistics
• Collaborate with our studios and finance teams to build and maintain trackers and dashboards that catalogue contract statuses, external development spend and production ramps.
• Reconcile monthly actuals vs. forecast, highlight deltas, and recommend smart reallocations to optimize ROI.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI and gaming technology. Propose and champion innovative solutions that can provide competitive advantages or improve player experiences.
• Monitor global trends across games, developers, and publishers. Conduct due diligence on prospective partners.
• Own a vertical area (e.g., AI partnerships, art outsourcing strategy) - develop its roadmap, evaluate vendors, and drive long-term impact.
• Independently identify risks, inefficiencies, or opportunities in partner performance and lead strategic recommendations to improve ROI.
• Act as the primary liaison to studio, finance, and legal stakeholders for a defined portfolio of partnerships, aligning business objectives and operational execution.
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: 5+ years in business development, FP&A, strategy, or product operations, preferably in games, entertainment, or tech.
• Gaming Literacy: Working knowledge of the game development process and the middleware, support tools, and AI systems that enable AAA production. Experience with co-development and art outsourcing is a plus.
• Financial Acumen: Proven track record managing or auditing large budgets and data, with the ability to distill financial analysis into clear narratives and present insights to senior leaders.
• Analytical and Business Toolkit: Comfortable working with Excel and interest in automating repetitive processes using scripting, macros, or other similar workflow optimization tools. Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM tools. Familiarity with legal contracts is a plus.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal skills with an ability to translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.

In the US, the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all US locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
