VOD Editor (ABC News)

The role of a video content editor includes clipping and distribution of ABC News Live video for digital platforms and clients. This position also provides B-roll support and editing of segment fixes for the ABC News Live streaming channel. The video content editor will communicate with producers for editing requests and direction, but must also be able to work independently, using editorial judgement, with high attention to detail. Candidate must be able to stay organized during fast-paced, breaking news scenarios.

Strong Avid Media Composer editing skills are required. Experience with playout servers, lower third templates, and After Effects is preferred.

Responsibilities:
• B-roll string outs and segment fix editing of News video on Avid
• Transferring sequences to ABC News Live's playout server
• Frequent communication with editorial producers and live streaming operators
• Breaking news support
• Basic editing and clipping on Avid for VOD
• Use of web tools to publish and distribute video content
• Organization of show rundowns and clearance information
• Metadata management
• SEO implementation
• Quality assurance of video content across digital platforms

Basic Qualifications:
• Avid Media Composer experience required
• Avid Interplay experience preferred
• Experience with broadcast or streaming playout servers preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relative experience
