Job Description
SEED is a pioneering group within Electronic Arts, combining creativity with applied research. We explore, build, and help determine the future of interactive entertainment.

Master Thesis - Machine Learning

Deep learning is becoming ubiquitous in Machine Learning (ML) research, and it's also finding its place in industry-related applications.

For this current hiring cycle, for the Spring semester of 2022, we now offer a couple of Master Thesis opportunities in the area of Machine Learning for the next generation of games. Together with our researchers from SEED, you will work on one of the following topics:
• Advanced automated game testing with Machine Learning: We are doing research in the area of applying Deep Machine Learning, such as reinforcement learning and supervised learning, for game testing.Our research includes, but is not limited to:
• Adversarial Reinforcement Learning for Procedural Content Generation
• Reinforcement Learning for game play testing: we do research on the use of reinforcement learning to detect bugs in gameplay.
• Supervised learning for detection of graphical issues in game assets.
• Artificial curiosity as a method to increase test coverage.
• Creating agent personas for a more diverse game play testing.
• Deep generative models have proven incredibly useful at generating and remixing realistic content. We are now exploring how to develop these type of ideas into applications to game development. Examples of this type of work can be:
• Generative models for Crowd simulation
• Sound generation and filtering
• Ambient Life in Games using Reinforcement Learning

What We Look For

We are looking for students with a background in computer science and machine learning techniques and have an interest to work on state-of-art tools for games. Experience in Unity, Unreal, Maya, or Houdini will also improve your merits.

This internship is unpaid and temporary employment. It needs to be associated with a university education or any other type of education that has an internship period planned into the education plan, for example, LiA.
