Level Design Intern

Ripple Effect, an evolution of Battlefield's DICE LA, is a Los Angeles-based game studio on a mission to build community-first experiences through innovation and boundary-breaking technology.

We are looking for a Technical Design Intern to join us in our mission to create amazing games and experiences, and to improve ourselves and our craft. You will report to our Design Line Manager. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options and welcome full-time remote candidates who are within a three-hour time difference to the Pacific Time Zone to apply.

Responsibilities
• Adopt and become proficient in new or proprietary development tools to implement and debug your work
• Work with senior-level designers to develop and refine levels, locations, and map objectives
• Bring your designs through every phase of development from concept to polish
• Champion established game rules and ideas within your work, ensuring it makes for the best possible gameplay experience
• Leverage feedback from multiple sources to refine your designs
• Participate constructively and respectfully in the critique of your work, and the work of others

Required Qualifications
• Comfortable with 3D editors such as Unreal or Unity
• Experiences with software such as Maya, Sketchup or ZBrush
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for gaming: playing, deconstructing, and creating.
• Bonus experience: scripting or programming languages such as Blueprints, Lua, or C++

Must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2024. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2024, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2024. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
