Job Description
Automation Engineer Co-Op (8 Months)

Development Technology & Services (DTS)

As Electronic Arts relies more and more on test automation, there are some areas that present an opportunity to rely less on procedural scripting and instead switch to data driven automation using the knowledge of the defined single player experience. You will be given the opportunity to work with the Motive automation team to see if you can create a system that plays through a single player experience with the least amount of manual scripting needed, using data instead. This includes pathing, interaction with objects, solving in game puzzles, etc. You will not just provide a valuable solution to the teams but learn about how games are made and tested, while having fun doing so!

Responsibilities:
• Work with senior software engineers in automation, designers on the game team and the Quality Engineering team to help drive design of data driven AI for testing games in development
• Build, test, and deploy automated solutions to support game project deliverables.
• Support an increased adoption of automation within game teams. Aid in the identification and requirements gathering for new automation.
• Identify and recommend debug and telemetry enhancements to aid testing.
• Provide debug support and technical expertise to QV teams and game software engineers.
• Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and increase knowledge of existing tools, automation and testing processes.
• Risk analysis of new features – impact and scope.
• Assist with prioritizing bug fixing efforts and areas of test focus.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge in C++ or strong knowledge in a similar language
• Passionate about new technology
• Knowledge of good software engineering practices
• Work well with others in a team-oriented environment and be an individual contributor
• Navigate quickly changing project requirements and real-time feedback
• Adaptability/flexibility: not afraid of change, embracing it for the good of the project - is not afraid to try new things and possibly fail
• Experience with game engines (eg.: Unity, Unreal, others)
• Knowledge and contributions to machine learning or reinforcement learning, e.g. in the form of research publications, open-source software or workplace experience
• Experience developing novel AI algorithms, and journal and conference publications.
