HR Generalist - Sucker Punch Productions

Seattle, WA

We are looking for an HR Generalist for Sucker Punch Productions in Seattle, WA. The right candidate will provide day-to-day support to studio leaders, managers and employees. You will understand the studio needs and overall strategy & goals, culture, challenges and competition and collaborate with the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and WWS HR team to deliver valuable service and support to Sucker Punch. The ideal candidate will be passionate, have a sense of urgency for execution as well as natural curiosity and willingness to take risks, and have the ability to creatively problem solve and look at human resources in new and different ways.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
• Provide responsive support to employees with questions and issues
• Partners with studio management to drive a robust culture
• Provide direction and input on total rewards, performance management, career mobility, and other talent development and retention activities
• Partners with HR Centers of Excellence to support business needs in areas such as learning and development and rewards and handles all employment-related processes
• Improve manager capability through coaching and implementation of management development programs and opportunities
• Provides expert coaching and advice to managers and employees and assist in resolving complex employee relations issues
• Designs and applies change management and organizational development strategies that influences and assists organizational change in support of business strategies
• Facilitate workshops with customers intending to solve for potential challenges or bring awareness to opportunities
• Assist in driving analytics, project planning and organization in the following areas: organizational change management, workforce planning, organizational planning and talent planning
• Analyzes trends and metrics, and collaborate with HR functional experts to develop solutions, make recommendations, and develop programs
• Assist on-site Operations team with cultural events

Required Knowledge / Skills:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 5+ years previous experience and proven results within HR in a fast paced, high tech or creative environment
• Demonstrated eye for business and analytical skills
• Strong compliance knowledge, including federal, state, and local regulations
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with leaders at all levels of the organization
• Ability to coach and influence studio management
• Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
• Strong intuition and advisory skills
• Ability to create and foster business relationships with leaders and employees at Sucker Punch as well as Sony Interactive Entertainment
• High level of initiative and responsiveness with an aim to quickly resolve problems
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to accomplish objectives with demanding timelines and the ability to multitask on assignments
• Must be able to work at all levels- strategic, operational, and tactical
• Strong facilitation skills

Bonus
• SPHR/PHR or other HR certification
• Entertainment Industry - especially game industry experience
