Lead Compositor

• develop and set looks for sequences/effects/assets/2D effects, in consultation with the VFX Supervisor
• develop plans for shots and sequences, in consultation with the CG Supervisor, VFX Supervisor, and Production
• identify areas of R&D required for the show
• understand and coordinate with upstream departments
• provide accurate bids for compositing work
• develop templates for recurring tasks on a show and roll out to team
• solve technical comp issues, optimize complex Nuke setups
• conduct frequent desklies/rounds, giving artists useful feedback/spotting
• review comp work prior to dailies, present artist's work in dailies
• run an effective comp dailies in absence of VFX Supervisor
• perform final quality control checks on all final shots
• lead the comp team - correct bad habits, encourage best practices, teach new techniques

Qualifications
• 5+ years leading compositing teams for film or high-end TV/Streaming
• advanced knowledge of Nuke and compositing
• ability to composite high-complexity, creatively challenging shots or lookdev
• ability to lead and mentor a team
• familiarity with Linux an asset
• familiarity with Nuke Python scripting / gizmos an asset
