The Globalization team is responsible for translation and cultural adaptation of most things Netflix creates, from beautiful user interfaces to cinematic original programming. We treat each country we enter uniquely, since it is not just about translation, it is about providing our audience with an experience that feels local, and we do it at scale.
Our Strategy and Innovation team is looking for a seasoned Manager to manage a small team leading high impact and strategic localization programs and projects as we scale. Working with other localization and cross functional leaders, you will analyze and translate business, quality, and technical requirements into a globalization blueprint that delivers solutions driving maximum business impact.

Utilizing a data driven approach, you will propose changes in processes, workflows, and standards as they relate to continuous improvement of globalization, and oversee the development and implementation of such changes in collaboration with delivery teams and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide leadership and mentorship for the S&I team. Hire and retain top talent for the organization.
• Create a strategy for the S&I team to ensure the prioritization of efforts and focus of resources to deliver against overall business objectives.
• Using your strong knowledge of the media globalization space:
• review business workflows, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, develop and implement optimization strategies.
• Create and implement future localization investment strategies to optimize language quality and coverage for maximum business impact
• Maintain a holistic view across all of Globalization, Creative Production, International Dubbing and Product and be a great partner for those teams
• Work with cross-functional leadership throughout Netflix to advocate for our global members, generate insights, initiate programs, and drive international experience and localization decisions
• Partner with Analytics teams to drive scaled experimentation in order to inform recommendations and roadmaps - represent Globalization at internal strategy meetings
• Present data-driven findings and suggestions with ample justification and practical advice. Assist the business in implementing solutions and resolving any discrepancies

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
• Expert in media (subtitle/dubbing) and/or software localization
• Demonstrable experience of building high performing teams
• Knowledge of localization and globalization tools, workflows, and technology, and other diverse business areas such as product development, finance, technology management, general business management
• Aptitude in creative problem-solving, and technical and engineering solutions; knowledge of continuous improvement or Lean methodology
• Experience managing and utilizing large data sets to drive performance and process improvements
• Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills
• Outstanding presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills at the executive leadership level
