Responsibilities
NBC Asian America, NBCBLK, NBC Latino and NBC Out are looking for an energetic, self-starting desk assistant to help with news coverage, social media posts and various administrative duties as needed. The four verticals, which provide highly respected, expert coverage of each community, are embedded in the core workings of the newsroom. This is an ideal opportunity to see the inner workings of daily news coverage in a thriving, if remote, newsroom while writing articles about issues most at play in any or all of the four communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pitching and writing daily news stories relevant to any of the four verticals with awareness of what has been already covered by NBCNews.com
• Assisting with social media posts
• Assisting with organizing and sending editorial planning notes
• Administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications/Requirements
• 1+ years of related professional experience

Desired Characteristics
• Demonstrated knowledge of the topics covered by NBC

News' vertical sections
• Passion for news, politics and pop culture
• Strong written and communication skills
• Experience writing in AP style
• Excellent knowledge of all major social media platforms
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with handling confidential and sensitive

materials
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments while on

deadline
• Strong organizational skills and solid work ethic
• Ability to take direction well and provide self-direction
• Excellent interpersonal skills
