ABOUT WTVM:

WTVM is the market leader in the Columbus, GA/Auburn, AL market, located on the border between the two states. We cover news in a two time zone, two state market and produce more than 40 hours of live local news per week. WTVM is the only local station producing live news on weekend mornings. Some of WTVM's newscasts are simulcast on WLTZ the NBC affiliate, along with original content produced for them and also the FOX affiliate WXTX at 7pm & 10pm.

Job Summary/Description:

The news director will manage the assets of the news department including reporters, producers, the assistant news director and the executive producer to maximize news coverage and deliver on our brand ''Coverage You Can Count On''.

The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The successful News Director candidate will have prior experience as a news director or assistant news director for a network-affiliated local TV station and possess superior writing and producing skills as well as people management skills. They will be results driven and focused on helping their individual employees succeed.
