Job Summary/Description:

WTVG-TV, the #1 station and award-winning ABC affiliate in Toledo, Ohio, is seeking a part-time newscast producer to join our team. We're looking for a journalist and storyteller who is a news junkie with a drive for producing engaging content for all platforms (digital and broadcast). 13 Action News producers must be able to gather and showcase engaging, new, and shareable content.
Our producers have strong roots in journalism, multitask under deadline, and can tell a story like they're talking to a friend. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door while learning from the best in our market.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Prioritize, organize, and produce newscasts
- Maintain working knowledge of current events, community issues, and local contacts
- Stay on top of digital trends and best practices and integrate them into the station's overall digital presence.
- Assist with CTV streaming, including the furthering of the emerging live CTV desk in the newsroom, working wit reporters and producers to cover breaking and trending stories
- Work with reporters to get their daily stories posted to the website in a way that is engaging and error-free
Create, adapt, and manage the station's overall digital strategy, using metrics from Google Analytics, Chartbeat, Crowdtangle and others to gauge success

Qualification/Requirements:
- Demonstrate solid news judgment
- Maintain strong journalistic ethic
- Strong initiative and attention to detail
- Be creative and create compelling and memorable newscasts
- Knowledge of newsroom software
- Knowledge of web posting software
- Strong research skills, including online research using various search engines
- Ability to stay current with national and local news/weather
- Intermediate-level knowledge of social media
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
