Job Summary/Description:

WTVG is looking for a dynamic journalist to join our digital team. This position will take the helm on the Action News Now Streaming Center a few days a week, anchoring breaking news and providing updates through our website, social media, mobile and OTT apps. The successful candidate will also spend time providing vital broadcast coverage of local news and events by posting to our website, apps, and social media.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reporting breaking news events locally and nationally, severe weather coverage and big live event coverage
- Maintaining a high quality of content with accurate, error-free reporting
- Working with Digital Content Manager and other Digital Content Producers to craft and maintain a station voice across platforms
- Produce, present, and technically direct your own content-two to four days a week - from our state-of-the-art streaming desk using video, live cameras, graphics, and social media.
- Juggle multiple projects n a deadline pressure newsroom environment while maintain a calm and controlled presentation for on-air delivery.
- Generate stories and confirm information quickly that will provide content and depth to our daily reporting.
- Knowledge of current events, community issues, and keep a list of local contacts.
- Set up and coordinate guests for in-studio or remote appearances.
- Shoot and edit video and produce graphics with an eye for making stories understandable for the viewer.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- A college degree in journalism, broadcasting, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Strong writing skills with knowledge of AP Style and excellent news judgement.
- Competence in reporting live, online and on air.
- Able to present stories with solid vocal delivery, clarity and clear enunciation, ad lib, and write in a clear, concise, and conversational manner.
- Experience with ENPS, BitCentral, digital platforms like Zoom and Skype, social media, and digital content management platforms.
