Job Summary/Description:

WTOC-TV is searching for a producer who will be in charge of our lifestyle/community-based one-hour newscast called Morning Break. This show is very different than a typical newscast, and this position requires calling and booking local guests, organizing segment ideas, coordinating live shots and cooking segments, and more. This person also must be able to fill in and produce a traditional newscast.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Producing our one-hour Morning Break lifestyle newscast daily, which includes booking segments, writing stories, editing stories, working closely with talent on the show and boothing the show.
- Produce traditional newscasts when needed.
- Pitching stories, conducting interviews, and creating natpkgs.
- Booking guests to appear on Morning Break that are validated and cleared by news managers to participate.
- Help with special projects as needed.
- Strong videography skills.
- May shoot interviews on his/her own and be expected to write a pkg out of it for an anchor to track.
- Write digital versions of stories and post to digital platforms and social media accounts.
- Being a team player.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a TV newsroom working as a producer or related position.
- Proven producing and videography skills required.
- Must be extremely organized and great with time management.
