Job Summary/Description:

WTOC is hiring an MMJ based in Beaufort, South Carolina. Beaufort County, SC, is the fastest-growing county in South Carolina and the second-largest county in the Savannah market.

If you enjoy working on your own and want to live in one of South Carolina's charming, historic towns, this position could be for you! WTOC is looking to hire an MMJ to cover part of South Carolina's Lowcountry. The Savannah market covers Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort Counties in South Carolina. This position would be based in Beaufort County and operate like a one-person bureau. This position will build contacts in the Lowcountry, pitch relevant stories daily, and attend WTOC editorial meetings remotely. While this position is based in South Carolina, you may be called to Savannah as news coverage dictates.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- A successful candidate will have strong time management skills, be self-sufficient, be able to adapt to different circumstances, and communicate clearly with staff back at the station.
- This position will be based in Beaufort, SC.
- A college degree in journalism is preferred but not required.
- Because of the nature of this position being away from the newsroom, WTOC is looking for someone with previous reporting experience.
