WTAJ-TV has an opportunity for the right individual to join our newsroom and weather team as a Meteorologist/Reporter!

The successful candidate must know how to make a forecast presentable and relevant while using multiple media platforms. The Meteorologist/Reporter should be able to produce creative graphics and make the weather reports interesting, urgent, and impactful. This person is also a good storyteller who is able to shoot and edit video to make the story come alive. We are looking for someone who can focus on community involvement and connection, the talent to forecast effectively, and the responsive nature needed to provide content and breaking news to Central Pennsylvania. Requirements and Skills:

The Meteorologist Reporter will forecast, report, shoot, write and edit weather/news reports across multiple platforms.
• Anchor weekend weathercasts and work closely with weather team to develop comprehensive weather coverage.
• Fill-in meteorologist duties on weekdays as needed.
• Multimedia reporting three days per week.
• Produce and present weather/news reports for all platforms.
• Ensure all weather/news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Respond to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations as required.
• Assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating weather programming and other content.
• Participate in promotional activities and community events.
• Write and deliver stories in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to shoot video and edit stories from beginning to end.
• Contribute to and engage on all station social/digital platforms.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Entry level to 2 years' experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred.
• Must be able to shoot video and perform non-linear editing. Ability to write story from beginning to end.
• Knowledge of ENPS helpful.
• Proficiency with Baron's Radar is helpful.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of the field of Meteorology and a proven track record of forecasting.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift as needed.
• Ability to work under deadlines and to multitask.
• Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and possess the ability to solve problems quickly.
