Job Description

WSYX-WTTE in Columbus, Ohio has an immediate opening for a News Video Editor. The position is full-time and in-office.

Edit the newscast using non-liner equipment and meet daily deadlines that are required to get the show on the air. Editors must be able to communicate well and assist the news producer that's producing the show to generate high-quality video products in a pressurized setting, and acquire live or recorded content across a variety of digital and/or analog paths. The candidate should be up to date on current news events on both a local and nation level. Avid, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro editing experience is preferred. Must be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include:
-Editing video and audio on Avid editing software for local, national, and global daily news coverage and special projects.
-Taking feeds and sending content to and from various news organizations.
-Collaborating and communicating with producers, anchors, reporters, and photographers on video elements for newscasts.
-Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment.

The Ideal candidate's qualifications:
-College degree or minimum one year relative experience.
-Knowledge of Avid video editing software or similar programs such as Final Cut, Edius, or Adobe Premiere.
-Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment.
