Job Summary/Description:

WRDW-TV/WAGT-TV has an opening ideal for entry level Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist. This position involves preparing weather graphics, forecast, and presenting weather on air and on digital platforms for our weekend morning newscasts, as well as three days a week shooting, editing, and writing news from scheduled and unscheduled events in the local community.

Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Preparing weather graphics, forecast, and presenting weather on-air and on digital platforms on weekend morning newscasts as well as filling in for other newscasts when co-meteorologists are off. Position also includes research, reporting live, shooting clean and creative video, writing in conversational broadcast style, and video editing. Must have the desire and ability to daily cultivate sources in the community, enterprise stories. Must also collaborate well with others in the newsroom.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Candidates should be degreed meteorologist with minimum of one year of on-camera experience as a meteorologist and/or reporter/MMJ with a broadcast news station or with a university/college newsroom with daily real world expectations and deadlines. Successful applicant's background must include a bachelor's degree in meteorology, climatology, weather sciences, and experience with shooting and non-linear video editing. He/she must be a self-starter, with skill to build weather forecast graphics utilizing weather software systems. Strong camera presence, and communication skills and broadcast writing style are a must. Must work well under pressure and be able to maintain attention to detail and accuracy under strict daily deadlines. Must have and include a link to your on-camera weather and multimedia journalist work.
