Our team produces 41 hours of news each week across our ABC and NBC channels and is committed to local, in-depth special programming that airs in addition to traditional newscasts. Job Summary/Description:

WPTA, 21Alive is looking for a newscast producer who thrives in a fast-paced and creative environment. We are looking for someone who wants to craft, instead of stack, a newscast. The producer will work with a team of motivated and passionate journalists to create a thoughtful and meaningful newscast.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• ️ Take ownership of the newscast to produce a compelling product for viewers
• ️ Communicate with reporters to help present impactful coverage of big stories
• ️ Work closely with First Alert meteorologists to communicate weather headlines that are easy to understand
• ️ Pitch stories daily during editorial meetings
• ️ Develop a ''digital first'' mindset to help our digital team share content on multiple platforms

Qualifications/Requirements:
• ️ Strong writing skills
• ️ Displays attention to detail
• ️ Creative producing skills
• ️ Strong understanding of digital media
• ️ Four-year college degree
