WPTA has been recognized with several national Edward R. Murrow Awards, Emmy Awards and statewide news honors for its market-leading broadcast journalism. We produce more than 50 hours of news on our two network-affiliated channels (ABC and NBC), along with numerous special programs on subjects ranging from climate change to the local arts scene.
Job Summary/Description:
Producers are responsible for creating and overseeing the delivery of station newscasts. Experience with broadcast writing and editing, along with strong news judgment, are key qualifications.
Develop sources and story ideas; write copy, edit video and create graphics for newscasts; oversee live delivery of news from control room; post content to station web site and social media accounts.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• College degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field; hands-on experience (including internships) involving newsroom activities.
