Newscast Director

Job Description

WPEC is looking for a Director for our Newscast.

Responsibilities:
• Use Ross Overdrive automation and iNews production software to direct any assigned newscast and productions
• Fill any production positions including, but not limited to, hand held cameras, robotic cameras, audio, prompter and floor directing 
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Call the newscast, giving clear cues to crew and talent using the intercom system
• Perform any production duties as assigned including:
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content
• Planning and executing strategic coverage and operations

Requirements:
• Experience Directing and TDing newscasts
• Troubleshoot and repair technical issues when possible
• Report any outstanding issues to Engineering and/or the Studio Manager
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Typing and good spelling skills necessary
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
