Job Summary/Description:

WOWT has an immediate opening for an experienced News Anchor for our weekend evening newscasts. The ideal candidate has a passion for broadcast journalism and will deliver the news in an engaging, energetic manner. This candidate will also be a MMJ Reporter during the week. WOWT is looking for a candidate who will make a positive contribution in the newsroom and community as a whole.

Duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Anchor Saturday/Sunday evening newscasts
- On-air delivery of news
- Preparation of material for delivery of newscasts
- Developing and reporting stories
- Heavy social engagement with viewers
- Posting stories to website
- Public appearances on behalf of station
- Co-anchor weekend evening newscasts
- On-air delivery of news
- Preparation of material for delivery of newscasts
- Developing and reporting local news stories
- Shooting and editing video
- Finding and reporting stores that target our key/core viewers
- Heavy social engagement with viewers
- Posting stories to website
- Public appearances on behalf of station
- other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism or related field
- At least 2 years' experience as a news anchor
- Must have solid people skills and be able to function in a ''team'' environment
- Ability to operate under constant deadline pressure
- Ability to deliver news content in clear and professional manner
- Strong writing skills and ability to write accurately and creatively under constant deadline pressure
