About WOIO:

WOIO-WUAB are the CBS and CW Affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio. We produce 56.5 hours of news per week and deliver content on a 24/7 basis on our digital platforms.

Job Summary/Description:

WOIO 19 is seeking a PM Digital Reporter/Anchor. The successful candidate will conceptualize and present hard-hitting content and Breaking News on a variety of digital platforms, including OTT. Must be a self-starter,
tech savvy and creative journalist capable of juggling multiple stories and planning ahead with minimal supervision. Will be called upon to fill-in as a Reporter and Anchor for TV broadcasts and specials.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Candidate must be a creative storyteller, a great communicator and a news junkie who can pivot quickly as stories break. Must learn and understand the difference between television writing and writing for digital platforms. Must demonstrate the ability to produce a high volume of content and effectively work thru challenges while remaining calm and level-headed.

Qualifications:

Minimum three (3) years experience. College degree in journalism preferred.
Some anchoring experience preferred, as well as Bilingual journalism.
Strong verbal/written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style required.
Experience with newsroom computer systems, including ENPS.
Uses own enterprise social media accounts to promote stories.
Ability to handle a wide variety of variables, including intense deadlines, shifting schedules and shifting from one platform to another.
Must work well under pressure and with a diverse group of people.
Other duties as assigned by news management.
