Job Summary/Description:

WNEM-TV is recruiting for a MMJ Sports/News Reporter. We are looking for someone who is a great storyteller and can create both news and sports content on multiple platforms. This person generates story ideas, researches, writes, reports, shoots video and edits news and sports material for broadcast and all WNEM news platforms. This job includes sports anchoring on weekends, as well as being able to do live reports on both news and sports stories.

This person must also write and post daily on all digital platforms, and social media. The successful individual will furnish a wide variety of news and sports content either working alone or in tandem with other field personnel. We need someone who contributes live shots utilizing microwave, satellite and other technology for feeding stories to the station. This individual will be called upon to represent WNEM in public in a professional and courteous manner. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must possess advanced understanding of legal and ethical issues impacting journalism.
- Ability to combine words and pictures into informative and interesting news and sports stories.
- Ability to shoot, write and edit packaged reports.
- Ability to handle breaking news live coverage.
- Strong social media skills.
- Advanced knowledge of the locale, governing bodies, demographics and public figures.
- Ability to edit stories as necessary.
- Ability to perform quality work in high pressure deadline situations.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
