Job Summary/Description:

WKYT-TV is looking for a full-time traffic anchor/multimedia reporter. In this role, you will be responsible for broadcasting traffic reports during morning newscasts and producing content for multiple digital platforms. This position requires a creative individual who's good on-air, has a proficiency for studio technology, and the ability to multitask and troubleshoot. We're looking for a pioneer in the next generation of news gathering. We report news on every platform available to our viewers.

Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering timely and informative traffic reports with energy and confidence during weekday morning newscasts.
- Understand traffic's impact to determine significance and prioritization.
- Self-produce graphic intensive traffic hits using Max Traffic software and external sources to validate or update accuracy of content during early mornings.
- Reporting, shooting, and editing video, posting web stories/pictures/video from both the field and television station. Successful candidates will also have the ability to deliver compelling stories. You'll use the latest technology, including lightweight next generation video equipment and laptop editing.
- Requires flexibility in work schedules.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Candidates should have at least two years' experience as a reporter for a broadcast news station or news website. Knowledge and familiarity with Lexington area geography and traffic preferred.
• The successful applicant's background must include, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a related field. He/she must be a self-starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment and software as well as website publishing.
