Local Sales Manager

Job Description

WJET(ABC), WFXP (FOX) and YourErie.com, located in Erie PA, has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and experienced multi-platform sales leader with a proven track record of success & is motivated to lead a high-performance team to new records.

This sales manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of all members of their sales team, including achievement of revenue goals across Broadcast and Digital Platforms. Recruiting, coaching, & developing talent are key areas of responsibility as well.

Essential Duties:
• Provides leadership for assigned sales team
• Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees
• Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local, national and digital revenue
• Oversee interactions with national rep firm offices & maximize those relationships
• Manage day to day duties pertaining to political
• Manages inventory and revenue forecasting
• Manages recruitment, training, evaluation, and development of sales professionals
• Prepares budgets and approves budget expenditures
• Manages Accounts Receivable
• Develops and cultivates client relationships alongside Account Executives
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Minimum two to four years multi-platform sales experience
• Track record of growing share on agency business
• Reading & evaluating inventory
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Experience guiding, directing, and motivating personnel, including setting and monitoring performance standards
• Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them
• Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills
• Experience with Wide Orbit Traffic, Strata, Matrix, Wide Orbit Media Sales, ComScore and Microsoft office is preferred.
• Working knowledge of the local media landscape including linear, display, video and OTT.
