Job Summary/Description:

For the first time in 22 years, WIBW TV is in search of a major News anchor. We are looking for a candidate who has strong journalistic credentials, a solid news background, with writing and reporting experience. Candidates must have the ability to multi-task, must be personable and be ready to be involved in the community. We are looking for someone who is a team player, willing to jump in and help whenever needed. Our main anchors must be willing and able to mentor to young staffers, many of whom will be in their first job out of college. 13 News is the #1 station in Northeast Kansas, a broadcast and digital news leader reaching a potential audience of 400,000 viewers in the 17-county viewing area.

Candidates must have TV News Anchoring experience, be excellent writers and have reporting capability. Applicants must be personable, willing to be involved in the community. Candidates must have a team mentality, a multi-tasker who can step in to help when needed. Applicants with at least seven years of television news anchor experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• College degree preferred but demonstrated news experience considered
• Strong, demonstrated news judgment
• Superior writing and copy editing skills
• Proficiency in story creation and newscast production
