Job Summary/Description:
The assignment editor will assign news personnel to daily stories. Position requires a very organized person who can keep track of the days top stories, while monitoring police scanners and coordinating with MMJs, Photographers, Anchors and Producers.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
• Planning assignments day before scheduled events.
• Lead the morning meeting and assign news crews
• Closely monitor police scanners.
• Make phone calls to get information to advance daily news stories.
• Tactfully motivate news personnel for best utilization of their individual talents.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• College degree preferred. Candidates who have experience producing news, reporting news and/or managing news personnel professionally or in college a plus!
