Job Summary/Description:

Do you want to craft a newscast? Do you think 'stacking' should never be uttered in a newsroom? If you are ready to use your creativity every day, WHNS Fox Carolina is looking for you. In this position you will be encouraged to use your skills to make a memorable newscast every day. We are seeking a Newscast Producer.

The successful candidate's responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
- Use editorial judgment to help determine the best content for our viewers in the Upstate and Western North Carolina Mountains
- Work with reporters and news managers to create unique, fast-paced newscasts
- Use social media to help guide the content of newscasts and highlight big social stories
- Use graphics, video and sound to enhance newscasts and stories
- Be able to guide breaking news coverage and special events
- Make time-sensitive decisions
- Write clearly for multiple platforms on tight deadlines
- Demonstrate creativity and strong editorial judgment
- Use your journalistic integrity to help craft shows
- Fact check and take time to add in another layer of information
- Be in it to WIN it

Qualifications/Requirements:
• The successful applicant's background must include, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a related field. He/she must be a self-starter, with knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as website publishing.
