Associate Producer, WFTS

WFTS, The E.W. Scripps ABC affiliate in Tampa, Florida is looking for an Associate Producer to join the morning team. The Associate Producer will assist in gathering, writing and editing content for daily programming on TV & OTT. The schedule will mean early morning hours.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Work closely with Executive Producers and Producers to determine content needs.
• Assist in the development of content for multiple platforms in AP and broadcast style.
• Execute time sensitive decisions.
• Write clearly for multiple platforms.
• Edit video for multiple platforms.
• Post content to station's websites.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• BS/BA in related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience
• No prior experience required

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, storytelling abilities, and news judgement
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a face paced environment
• Proficiency in computer-based editing, Final Cut Pro and basic computer skills including MS Office
• Detail-oriented and able to work effectively under deadlines
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Flexible work hours may be required, including holidays, weekends and evenings
