Job Description
WEYI/WBSF is looking for an Anchor Reporter/Meteorologist who has a passion for both weather and storytelling. Day to day responsibilities of the role will include forecasting, producing and presenting clear and concise weathercasts, and newscasts which tell a story and connect with our audience. Issue Warnings and alerts, coordinate with Chief Meteorologist on producing graphics and maps, and report live during weather events.

In this role you would be responsible for anchoring morning news and weather cut-ins and reporting on-air and on our digital platforms. Also responsible for pitching story ideas and developing contacts.

Skills:
• Ability to tell memorable and meaningful stories, we value visual and compelling storytelling
• Ability to interpret and translate weather data
• Knowledge of forecasting
• Ability to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shots
• Sharp news judgment and exceptional writing skills
• Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
• Ability to develop content for web and social media platforms
• A self-starter who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basis
• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to maintain an active social media presence to build your brand and solicit original story ideas

Qualifications:
• Responsible for the content of the weathercast on-air and on our digital platforms
• Forecasting, producing and presenting clear, and concise weathercasts
• Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events
• Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories.
• Must have strong writing skills and knowledge of current events
• Ability to research a story, write it with an edge, and use strong storytelling and TV production to make it impactful and memorable
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• At least one year experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred
