WEAU 13 News broadcasts to 26 counties in western Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota. We're an hour drive away from the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area in a growing community with great schools and health care.

Job Summary/Description:

WEAU 13 News, the dominant station in Eau Claire, WI, has an immediate opening for a Multi-media journalist (MMJ). This is an opportunity for someone looking for their first broadcast journalism job.

This position involves shooting, writing, and editing television news packages, as well as producing value-added content for WEAU.com. Our on-air journalists are also expected to maintain social media pages, and be involved in the community.
MMJs are also trained to produce newscasts and occasionally fill-in for producers.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field, preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including excellent news writing and visual story-telling ability
- Familiarity with digital video cameras, non-linear editing, and Social Media platforms
- Ability to lift 35-40lbs of gear
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays if needed
- Valid Driver's License
