WEAU 13 News broadcasts to 26 counties in western Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota. As an NBC affiliate, our station broadcasts more than 25 hours of news a week.

WEAU is looking for a meteorologist to join the teams of Hello Wisconsin and WEAU 13 News at Noon. The ideal candidate must be able to produce and deliver a dynamic, compelling and understandable forecast for our newscasts and digital platforms.
Job Summary/Description:
WEAU is looking for a meteorologist to join the teams of Hello Wisconsin and WEAU 13 News at Noon. The ideal candidate must be able to produce and deliver a dynamic, compelling and understandable forecast for our newscasts and digital platforms.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
• Produce and present clear, accurate, and engaging forecasts for Hello Wisconsin from 4:30-7am and WEAU 13 News at Noon from 12-12:30pm, as well as record radio forecasts and morning cut-ins for FOX 25/48.
• Handle multiple weather forecasting platforms including broadcast and digital.
• Contribute content for digital platforms including OTT, station website & apps and social media accounts.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Knowledge of WSI Systems.
• Some on air experience, either professionally or in college, required (*must send link to demo reel for consideration
• Certification and a meteorology or atmospheric sciences degree are preferred.
• Understanding of and adherence to AP Style (on digital platforms) and broadcast writing for television.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), proven news judgment, ethics and integrity.
• Strong work ethic, organizational and leadership skills. Must be able to work quickly, make deadlines, multi-task and show composure, especially during active and severe weather.
• Ability to work long hours/overtime, weekends, and overnights as needed for breaking and severe weather and specialized coverage.
