VIDEO EDITOR/VIDEOGRAPHER (P/T) - WCTV

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Works with news managers, producers, anchors and reporters on video selection and appropriate editing techniques (transitions, effects, etc.)
- Selects shots used in videos for air, and adherse to blurring, censoring as decided by management
- Understands broadcast journalism best practices and legalities
- Ensures correct video is linked to each story, and that shots match the script
- Sets up live shots for reporters/anchors as assigned by supervisors
- Shoots video for stories as assigned by supervisors
- Writes copy for web and edits video for playback as assigned by supervisors
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements/Qualifications:
- An internship in a commercial newsroom
- Knowledge of video editing and scripting software
- Working knowledge of web and social platforms
- A commitment to 100% accuracy
- A desire to grow in a newsroom and become full-time
