Job Summary/Description:

WBTV has an exciting opportunity to cover a wide range of professional, collegiate and prep sports in beautiful Charlotte, NC. We are home to the Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Hornets, NASCAR headquarters, yearly PGA Tour stop and the newest MLS expansion team Charlotte FC. This will not be position where a sports anchor shows highlights, we are looking for a Sports/MMJ focused on storytelling with an innovative style as well as a journalist who embraces in-depth digital coverage. This position requires solid news judgment and a strong background in photojournalism. The ideal candidate exhibits a good work ethic, strong people skills, the ability to be work flexibly.

Duties and responsibilities include but are note limited to:
- Excellent writing skills and strong organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to shoot and edit video is a must (Experience with ENPS, EDIUS, or BitCentral Oasis is a plus)
- Have an aptitude for social media and digital savvy storyteller
- Experience with live shots is required (Experience with Live-U is a plus)
- Must exhibit the ability to develop community contacts and enterprise story ideas

Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years reporting experience is required
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must exhibit understanding of broadcast, digital, social, and streaming platforms in a local news context
- You MUST provide a link to your resume reel
- Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs
- Must pass a pre-employment motor vehicle background check
