Job Summary/Description:
WBTV is looking for a highly-organized, creative producer to take over our weekend morning newscasts. These shows are a mix of news and lifestyle content designed to make the viewer want to grab a cup of coffee and settle in with us for the morning. As the producer of these newscasts you will work with a small, dedicated team to develop unique content.
The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan segments and line produce weekend morning newscasts; fill in on weekday newscasts as assigned
- Select content, write and format scripts, create and/or request graphics
- Coordinate with digital producers on cross-platform content
- Communicate with anchors, assignment desk, field crews, editors, and others to ensure execution of a high-quality newscast
- Produce live breaking news and special event coverage on broadcast and streaming platforms
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
- Minimum 2 years experience as a line producer
- Experience producing with multiple live sources
- Excellent writing, showcasing, time management skills required
