Job Summary/Description:
WBTV in Charlotte, NC is looking for a General Sales Manager to lead our team of highly experienced account executives. The successful candidate will lead our talented sales team in creating solution-oriented campaigns and partnerships for our station. This key department head will be a part of strategic planning and must be able to communicate and collaborate with the team. The candidate must be able to attract, retain, and grow our salespeople and staff.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise local, regional, national, and digital sales personnel to achieve revenue budgets and station objectives
- Maximize spot / digital inventory, rate cards, special opportunities, and forecast revenue
- Strong understanding of digital media solutions
- Successful track record of growing new and existing local direct business
- Develop sales goals and manage sales revenue / expense budget
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of five years in sales (people management preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Strong leadership skills
- Assertive and organized
- Knowledge of Wide Orbit, Media Sales, and Matrix preferred
