Job Summary/Description:

WBTV is looking for a storyteller who can bring hard news stories to life through character-driven reporting to join our team as an enterprise reporter. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of digging beyond the headlines to develop in-depth stories that can be told across multiple platforms, including on-air and streaming. If you are looking to get out of the daily grind and tell stories that make change and drive solutions in the local community, this job is for you!

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and cultivate sources; enterprise stories
- Produce a minimum of 2-3 packages per week
- Ability to tell in-depth stories about current news and major issues in the Charlotte area
- Report and shoot/write/edit enterprise stories for TV newscasts
- Create original programming for WBTV.com and online streaming platforms
- Partner with WBTV reporters and producers to supplement breaking news in additional context and character-focused reporting
- Must be able to manage multiple projects at once
- Create engaging digital and social content

Qualification/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
- Minimum 3 years of reporting experience required, 5 years preferred
- Excellent writing and time management skills
- Must exhibit an understanding of broadcast, digital, social and streaming platforms
- Must include an example of recent work with a link to reel with application
- Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs
- Must pass a pre-employment motor vehicle background check
