Job Summary/Description:

WBTV's digital and broadcast producers work closely together to enhance the WBTV On Your Side brand across all platforms. The right candidate will execute an aggressive multiplatform content strategy by developing and posting engaging content on digital and social media platforms.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
• Write several daily stories for each digital platform using AP-style writing
• Efficient in reviewing copy for errors in content, grammar, and punctuation
• Effectively communicates with field crews, on -air talent, meteorologists and other content creators daily
• Create and post engaging and accurate content to station website, apps, OTT, social media and other digital platforms
• Optimize social media and digital platforms to build and reinforce brand recognition and drive viewers to our products
• Ability to organize material and good judgement when determining a story's appropriate headlines, length, and format
• Research and analyze background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Strong writing skills and news judgment
• Excellent time management skills
• Working understanding of social media platforms and digital strategy
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field is preferred
• Knowledge of video and still photography and editing is a plus
