Job Summary/Description:
Our Chief Meteorologist will have mastered the science and the performance aspect of weather. He or she is a master in the craft of weather storytelling. The Chief will guide a team of passionate meteorologists and be actively involved in the editorial process, setting the tone for coverage of weather events.
We are looking for a person who is high energy and passionate about weather but can stay cool under pressure. This meteorologist will not only be dedicated to delivering life-saving information on-air but also interacting and connecting with viewers through digital and social media platforms.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge of weather science and excellent forecasting skills.
• Proficient in using WSI & Baron graphics and technology.
• Proficient in radar technology.
• Ability to tell a compelling weather story.
• Dynamic on-air presence with a conversational weather presentation.
• Proven on-air experience in handling breaking news and severe weather coverage.
• Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events.
• Utilize social media daily to tell weather stories.
• Make public appearances on behalf of WBRC Fox6.
• Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations.
• Innovate ways to deliver weather info to our audiences.

Education:
- CBM and/or AMS seal.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology or related field.
- Military training and experience will be considered.
