Job Summary/Description:

WBKO is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Assignment Manager / Anchor to join our team. This individual will coordinate planning and execution of daily news coverage. WBKO is looking for a well-organized newsroom leader who can make quick, sound judgement calls on stories. We're looking for someone who can live and breathe our ''Local. First. Now.'' brand.

The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with the News Director and producers on daily story coverage
• Newsgathering – developing story ideas, confirming news tips, coordinate breaking news
• Coordinate story assignments and communicate with MMJs and producers
• Monitor scanners, social media, and other news-generating resources
• Anchor newscast(s) as assigned, depending on the successful candidate

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Work closely with the News Director and producers on daily story coverage
• Newsgathering – developing story ideas, confirming news tips, coordinate breaking news
• Coordinate story assignments and communicate with MMJs and producers
