Job Summary/Description:
WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News, the No. 1 news team in West Tennessee, is looking for a Weekend Sports Anchor/MMJ to join our team. A person will anchor our weekend sportscasts and cover sporting events during the week.
This role anchors and produces sports segments for weekend newscasts, contributes to weekday sports coverage, and fills in for the weekday Sports Anchor as needed. You'll collaborate closely with our Sports Director and Digital Producers to grow and strengthen local sports coverage across platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities for (but not limited to) the following:
- Shoot, write, produce, and anchor sportscasts independently
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds of equipment
- Have a clean driving record
- Bring a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A four-year degree in broadcast journalism, communications, or a related field. (preferred)
