The Job

WB Games is looking for a Manager for its User Research team with an intense passion for gaming and science to work on games for all platforms including consoles, PC, and mobile. As a Manager your focus is on the quality and development of your team of researchers across a variety of in-development or post-launch products. The ideal candidate is motivated by helping to educate and empower their team in advanced research methodologies and in providing additional support and tools to maximize their potential and effectiveness.

The Daily
• Oversee and develop researchers across multiple projects for a global region
• Hire, train, assign, and maintain the centralized research staff for a global region of game development studios
• Manage and review the execution of research conducted by the team working across multiple projects
• Craft a career and skill development roadmap and coach each team member on achieving it
• Continuously look for ways to expand and improve the team's offerings
• Assist with the creation of a research strategy and budget that effectively accompanies the developers throughout production and post-launch
• Serve as a strategic point of contact for key studio project leaders as an expert and proponent on all user research matters for your team's projects
• Assist in advocating for proper resources, processes, and research methods with key stakeholders
• Directly coordinate with other research and product teams such as Analytics, Market Research, and Central Product Management to maximize the value of research for each project
• Collaborate on the scheduling and productivity of labs
• Provide insights and recommendations based on past product experiences as requested

The Essentials
• Minimum of Bachelor's degree required (branches of experimental psychology, human computer interaction, anthropology, human factors, or related field).
• 10+ years of experience in a related role, ideally in games user research, with at least 2 years of leadership experience
• Knowledge of research design including qualitative and quantitative methodologies

• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
• Experience conducting research studies with participants of all ages
• Excellent organizational skills
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Familiar with game design theory and the development process for video games
• Genuinely enjoy gaming in all forms
• Familiarity with analytics is a plus
• Graduate degree is a plus
