Job Description
The Director, User Research is responsible for overseeing a distributed WB Games User Research team responsible for helping to create best-in-class games with maximum potential commercial outcome.
Responsibilities will include developing a vision, mission and culture, managing and growing a team, developing and improving new methodologies, and ensuring the team has the capacity needed to support our projects.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Managing and motivating a distributed team across 3 countries
• Support team members in setting professional goals and developing personalized career growth plans, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
• Identify key challenges and develop appropriate solutions
• Support and advise lead researchers in developing research roadmaps and schedules, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals
• Develop, evaluate and implement new processes and tools as the need arises
• Stay informed on what is happening in the research field at large to ensure WB Games is up-to-date and current with the most advanced developments
• Ensure that research insights are elevated and communicated effectively to WB Games leadership, enabling meaningful product decisions across the organization
• Assist with user testing (usability, playtesting, etc.) as needed

Qualifications & Experience
• 10+ years in Games User Research with 5+ years in management of managers with focus on scaling UX research
• Experience with console, PC, and mobile games
• Familiar with game design theory and development process for video games
• Demonstrated ability to grow both a user research group and direct reports, as well as bringing products and services to market quickly and making appropriate cost/user experience trade-offs
• Demonstrated strategic business building approach to research
• Influence stakeholders to increase demand for discovery research
• Embrace and apply continuous learning of UX trends within teams
• Uplevel research impact to top leadership across development studios and relevant verticals (marketing, finance etc)
• Pioneer partnerships with data analytics, QA, and market research to align problem spaces, triangulate findings, and develop big picture insights
• BA/BS pertaining to human-computer interaction, psychology, or user research with applicable experience preferred
• Knowledge of research design, qualitative, and quantitative methodologies
• Strong organizational, analytical and presentational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Tableau or similar BI tools
• Familiarity with usability testing tools such as Qualtrics, etc.
• Passion for video games
The Nice to Haves
• Graduate degree pertaining to human-computer interaction, psychology, or user research strongly preferred
• Statistical experience and data modeling desired, but not required

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $152,950.00 - $284,050.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
