Job Summary/Description:

WAVE in Louisville, Kentucky is looking for a multi-media journalist to prepare and present breaking news to our afternoon audience via our WAVE News Alert Desk. We are looking for a Reporter who is hungry for urgent news. This person must be resourceful and able to scope out new information and breaking stories. The position requires someone to find and prepare urgent news stories for multiple newscasts. He or she will also be responsible for anchoring when needed, as well as field reporting.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent news judgment. Ideal candidate must be a self-starter, an excellent and clear communicator, and a team player.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- BA degree in broadcasting or equivalent work experience
- Expert level ad-lib skills
- Excellent shooting, writing, and editing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
