Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Facility Operations, the Facilities Coordinator will provide a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors, guests and employees to the property.
Licensed with the Security Officer Management Branch as a Special Police Officer, the Facilities Coordinator performs protective and enforcement functions when coping with undesired behavior, disturbance, crime, threats of life and property. In all situations, the Facilities Coordinator will perform their duties in a courteous, professional and restrained manner, through legal methods approved and in compliance with provisions of the District of Columbia Code, Sections 4-114 and 4-115 and company policies. This position is designated as an ''essential employee'' and may be required to stay beyond regular work hours and/or report in from off-duty to assist with minimum staffing coverage. The Facilities Coordinator is expected to work 40 hours per week.
The Facilities Coordinator will support preparation of the facility for organizational programming and athletic events at the Youth Baseball Academy including BASE afterschool and summer enrichment programming, HUSTLE baseball and softball games and practices, community events, high school and college baseball and softball games and practices, and other events as needed. The coordinator may be expected to provide day-of event assistance for baseball and softball games as well as some front office administrative duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facility Operations
• Assist with daily field and facility maintenance during the week.
• Includes field turf grooming
• On-field maintenance for the three baseball fields
• Includes general facility/building repairs and maintenance
• Assist with internal and external events at the Academy occasionally on the weekend.
• Assist with operations duties for Academy programming and events
• Assist with front office duties during afterschool and summer programming as directed by Manager, Facilities and Operations
• Additional duties may be assigned in accordance with the successful candidate's interests and talents
Security
• Conducts the required patrols as outlined by your Post Instructions and Supervisor Informational Updates in a manner that is investigative, complete, competent and dedicated to the standards of the company.
• Responsible for maintaining order on the property, utilizing respect, care and to the greatest extent possible, positive customer service in dealing with guests, visitors, employees and unknown individuals.
• Responsible for ensuring that trespassers and undesirable individuals are kept off of the property, utilizing the legal methods outlined in the provided policies and procedures. Take recommended action to deal with undesired conduct and law violations in compliance with established policy; make no mistaken accusations.
• Be prepared to take immediate and appropriate action in responding to emergencies, situations and events as situations dictate.
• Submit well-written and comprehensive reports setting forth facts of complaints, observations, actions taken and investigative findings.
• Advise supervisor and Senior Director of Operations of all activities that would be of interest, importance or concern regarding the property or any activity at the Academy.
• Perform duties in a respectful, professional and dignified manner ensuring compliance with established standards
• Complete all duties as otherwise assigned in a timely and professional manner
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Must possess SOMB Special Police Officer license or be able to obtain within 45 days of hire
• Familiarity with synthetic turf field care preferred
• Previous manual labor experience
• Prior experience working with hand and power tools
• Ability to troubleshoot in certain areas for repairs and maintenance issue
• Good communications skills (interpersonal, verbal, written)
• Valid driver's license required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
• Experience working in a child friendly environment
• Game-day experience with turf baseball field maintenance
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Office: Working conditions are normally outside with some in office duties. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
• Special Events: Duties require assistant to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, climb up/down stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:
The projected wage rate for this position is $21.00 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
