Job Description
Reporting to the Program Manager (Manager), the Lead Classroom Coordinator (Lead) will oversee the execution of academic and enrichment programming, work with Classroom Coordinators to prep and plan daily classroom activities/lessons, administer and collect classroom assessments, and assist the Manager with the execution of all events for Scholar Athletes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and Mentor a team of 6 part-time Classroom Coordinators
• Oversee enrichment activities administered by both Academy staff and outside organizations
• Assist in implementing a healing centered and trauma informed behavior management policies
• Observe and assist Classroom Coordinators' instruction of academic activities, enrichment, and youth development practices
• Maintain inventory of classroom supplies for both academic activities and enrichment
• Support the implementation of all academic assessments
• Ensure each classroom meets Academy standards by maintaining structured and creative learning environments
• Assist as needed in organizing daily transportation of scholar-athletes to and from after school site
• Working with the Manager, establish weekly meeting cadence for Classroom Coordinators
• Attend and at times, lead weekly staff meeting and professional development trainings
• Oversee the collection of relevant academic information for Scholar Athletes (including reports cards, IEPs and other behavioral information) from partner schools, school district offices, and/or LEAs to drive planning for appropriate intervention and support during programming.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of two years of youth development experience with knowledge of classroom instruction and management
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with youth and families in a low-income communities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
• Commitment to achieving the articulated objectives of Washington Nationals Philanthropies for Scholar Athletes, staff, and the community at-large
• Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills
• Embody the qualities of a strong role model for the Youth Baseball Academy's Scholar Athletes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pass a criminal background check

Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Working conditions are normal for an office environment
• Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
